85 Mile Per Hour Speed Limit???

Texas House to Allow 85mph Speed Limit?

The Texas House approved a bill that would allow an 85 mph speed limit on some Texas highways. Wednesday the House passed the measure as part of a larger transportation bill. The bill would allow the Texas Department of Transportation to raise the speed limit on designated stretches of highway after conducting engineering and traffic studies of that roadway.

This bill could have a very negative impact on the roads of Texas and my clients. Higher speed accidents usually lead to more severe injuries and often death.

This bill is steering North Texan drivers in the wrong direction. We will definitely be following the progression of this bill and I hope this does not increase the already high statistics of accidents that Texas has in comparison to the rest of the nation.
